The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the San Diego County Water Authority, the regional water suppliers, have announced wholesale water rate increases effective January 1, 2008. The Lakeside Water District will consider a pass-through of the wholesale increases at a public hearing on November 6, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at 10375 Vine Street, Lakeside. Lakeside will not consider internal rate increases this year. The district has not increased rates for several years, with the exception of wholesale charges.
The amount of the increase will be $0.12 per unit. The average customer using 40 units, or 30,000 gallons in a two month period, would have an increase of $2.54 per month, or 5.3%.
Customers may submit written protests prior to the close of the public hearing. Protests must include a signature and address of the property or water account number, and mailed to Lakeside Water District, 10375 Vine Street, Lakeside, CA 92040.
